Cats on Mars - 2013
So, the internet still loves cats, right?
I made this long ago, but lost the sketch and found it again just recently, and decided to finish it up because I kinda liked it.
I know the title is kind of mis-representative, since they’re not actually cats on mars, they’re cats in space. “Cats on Mars” however, is a reference to a song by The Seatbelts from the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Also “cats in space” doesn’t really have the same ring to it.
Might put some color on it, but right now I just really like how it turned out in black and white.
First finished page for Iron Born (not the first chronologically). Thought I’d share it, if only to prove for people that I’m actually working on a comic. I’ve been talking on and off about this project for about a year, but until recently it’s been little more than a bunch of concept-sketches.
I’ll have to pick up pace so that I can finish about two pages a week, this one took way to much time. Most time I spent trying to draw horses, understanding how to add speech balloons in Manga Studio, and editing details I forgot to add in the original page.
Anyways, it feels really good to finally have time to work on this, though I get the feeling I’m really going to miss seeing sunlight this summer.
Some late night sketching.
Adventure Souls! (Gwyn, Lord of Cinder)
Some of you might not know that I’m a big fan of FromSoft’s action role-playing video game Dark Souls. And since I’m also a really big fan of Adventure Time, I’ve long thought that It’d be fun to draw the major bosses from Dark Souls in the artistic style of said cartoon.
While I might not end up doing all the major bosses, I think I’ll least do my favorites, like Great Gray Wolf Sif, Gravelord Nito and Crossbreed Priscilla.
Just for the fun of it. ;)
PS: For everyone who’ve never played Dark Souls, I can strongly recommend it. It’s become known for its high difficulty, but I think that if you just give it some hours, you’re going to have possibly one of the best video game -experiences of your life.
A fanart I made for a friend who really loves Star Trek =)
The “Kirk vs Gorn” scene, aka “Worst Fight-Scene Ever”, is probably the most famously bad clip from the original Star Trek series. And it’s amazing.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s the clip for you here: link
I secretly wish for J.J. Abrams to include this scene in “Into Darkness” (though he probably won’t, since the Gorn seems to be absent from the trailers). But he probably will make more sequels, so maybe we shouldn’t give up hope to see this scene gloriously recreated in HD and 3D and whatever.
Peace.
Lilith - 2013
A slightly updated version of the cover art I made for Gorgon Magazine.
